Pikes Peak Prophecy Summit: ET Disclosure the End Time Delusion?

banner smallI’m leaving for the Pike’s Peak Prophecy Summit tomorrow morning. My topic is ET Disclosure: the End Time Delusion. The critics of this conference have been spinning this as some sort of wacky interpretation of prophecy. However, it seems to me that our critics have their heads buried in the sand. In the UK more people believe in ET than God and the US isn’t far behind. So is it really such a stretch to speculate this might be a key component of the “wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved”? (2 Th 2:10) Furthermore, I wrote the argument I am presenting in a research paper for an advanced graduate level seminary course. It was graded by a PhD in systematic theology from Dallas Theological seminary and I received an A+. Thus, I have submitted my material to peer review and passed muster.

Here is a summary I turned in back when I originally developed the topic.

When Jesus’ disciples asked him about his coming at the end of the age his first statement was “See that no one leads you astray” (Mt 24:4). Similarly, Paul warned the Thessalonian church that preceding Him would be a “lawless one by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,” (2 Th 2:9). Those unprecedented decpetions have inspired great pastoral concern over the ages. While offering prospects must be undertaken with humility, this paper suggests a possible scenario. Because we live in a post Christian society which has elevated scientists as the ultimate arbiters of truth, it seems likely that such an unprecedented deception will be clothed in the credibility of science. The Copernican revolution took a toll the Renaissance church’s authority and has led to what it is known as the Copernican principle, the idea that the earth is a mediocre planet amongst many and, more recently, that  humanity as an evolved primate is not very special either. In recent years, the science of astrobiology has gained respectability, even with the Vatican. Accordingly, the foundation has been laid for public acceptance of extraterrestrial beings. While neglected by most skeptical scientists, the UFO phenomenon, particularly the abduction and contactee reports, have led credible experts to conclude that deceptive entities are posing as space aliens. Since the time of Israel’s reformation, there has been a near exponential increase in such phenomeona. This has led an increasing number of theologians to the hypothesis that these entities play a pivotal role in the end time deception predicted in scripture.

Bibliography Summary

Powers of Darkness: Principalities & Powers in Paul’s Letters serves to inform my view of the powers and principalities as demonic entities whose activity will peak near the return of Christ.

The Millennial Deception: Angels, Aliens, and the Antichrist is a book by a good evangelical scholar who argues along the same trajectory as my thesis. Because my topic is on the fringe of theology, it is encouraging that Dr. Dailey reached similar conclusion concering the UFO phenomenon. Hence, I will build on his work and add my own insights.

Angels: Elect & Evil provides information on demons and their influence. The author argues that this will increase to a fever pitch near the return of Christ.

The article, “Satan’s Deceptive Miracles in the Tribulation” examines the miracles portrayed in the Biblical descriptions of end time events and concludes that they are supernatural rather than trickery or mere deception.

Ufo: End-Time Delusion is another book by a Christian author with a doctorate in theology, David A. Lewis, [1]  that argues UFOs and reports of contact with so called extraterrestrials are laying the ground work for a massive end time deception that will lead the world to accept the Antichrist.

The Kingdom of the Occult is a posthumously released Walter Martin book supplemented and edited by his daughter Jill Martin Rische and Kurt Van Goden. For over 30 years, Martin, another respected scholar, studied the UFO phenomenon in great depth and spoke about it publicly.[2] Like my own thesis, Martin believed that UFOs might be connected to the events that Jesus described just prior to his return (Lk 21:26).

Lights in the Sky & Little Green Men: A Rational Christian Look at UFOs and Extraterrestrials is an important resource for this project because it is the colloboratibe effort of an Astrophyscist, Hugh Ross PhD, a theologian and philosopher, Kenneth Samples, and  Mark Clark a national security expert. While they do not delve into eschatology, they conclude that UFOs are a demonic phenomenon decieiving people into a flase occultic worldview.

The Omega Conspiracy: Satan’s Last Assault On God’s Kingdom is another book by a theologian which strongly supports the thesis. Dr. Thomas goes a bit further than the rest connecting the UFO phenomenon to the Nephilim in Genesis 6.[3] As wild as it might seem, the testimonies coming from self proclaimed alien abductees seem to support his hypothesis.

Biblical Demonology is a good basic resource by a respected scholar on demonology which includes an entire chapter on eschatology which should provide helpful exegetical ideas for my thesis.

Ufos: What On Earth Is Happening the Coming Invasion is a good resource on the UFO phenomemon and its relation to eschatology. John Weldon, a Christian apologist accociated with Ankerberg’s group,  earned a PhD in comparative religions and is also a UFOlogist. This book strongly supports the idea that UFOs and so-called aliens might be the strong delusion that leads the world to accept the lie.

  1. hopeful_watcher says:

What I see as the end goal of any deception is for the human race to worship angels. This seems fairly obvious given that lucifer is in fact an angel and he will demand worship.

I fully expect the endtimes deception will say that Jesus wasn’t ressurected into bodily form but that He ascended as an angel and is amongst all the other angels. In this way, you can still worship Him while undermining His divinity.

This is the mystery of why God came to earth as a man. God knew Lucifer desired worship so the last thing Lucifer would do is exhalt a human. So what did God do? God exalted a human. God also knew that Lucifer is powerful in spirit, but has no power in creation of flesh. So God made sure Jesus was raised in the flesh.

Every step God made to secure our salvation was always one step ahead of Lucifer and undermined his power.

  2. cyberpriest says:

Mr Putman; you are wrong to say that ‘ET disclosure is the endTime delusion’. That is a ‘speculative theory’ which has no scriptural backing. but rather, it is the work of the imagination.
For someone who boasts of an A+ in systematic theology, you do not do justice to the 2Thes2 passage.

The focus of the passage concerns itself with the ‘final Apostasy’ prior to the Day of the Lord and the revealing of the son of perdition 2Thes2:3

It is within that context (Apostasy) that the strong delusion is wrought upon those who love not the truth.
Apostasy rightly translated = ‘a falling away from the Apostolic faith’
This is a faith matter and rightly so, The Apostle of the Lord addresses a church!

    As to the strong delusion:
It is ‘not’ an external factor as you say (ET disclosure)
It is an internal factor wrought by the very hand of God 2Thes2:11
“God will send upon them a strong delusion” It is not satan sending the delusion.

The word delusion rightly translated is (a deluding influence upon the mind) and it has everything to do with “the revealing of ‘the son of perdition’ (the lawless one) whose coming is in accord with the activity of satan” 2Thes2:9

It is He (the son of perdition) who is coming and not any ET disclosure.
It is He that will be worshipped in an exalted status 2Thes2:4 and the delusion from God will facilitate this final Apostasy. That is what the scripture is saying (nothing more, nothing less).

Furthermore; the Son of perdition is not going to be some Nephilim Hybrid, No!, He will be Just like ‘Judas Iscariot’ who was also refered by Jesus as “the son of perdition” Jn17:12
He will be a Man, having been entered by Satan, enabling him to perform “with all power signs and wonders and with all deception of wickedness” 2Thes2:9,10

Mr Putman; you are wrong to say that ‘ET disclosure is the endTime delusion’. That is a ‘speculative theory’ which has no scriptural backing. but rather, it is the work of the imagination.

And how is you know this? Did God tell you this personally?

For someone who boasts of an A+ in systematic theology, you do not do justice to the 2Thes2 passage.

The A+ was for this project, the idea you are criticizing. I did my final paper for Hermeneutics on 2 Thess. 2 and scholars have divergent views. How many years of Greek exegesis have you taken?

The focus of the passage concerns itself with the ‘final Apostasy’ prior to the Day of the Lord and the revealing of the son of perdition 2Thes2:3

No actually that is only the focus of verse 3. The mystery of inquity was already at work and the final delusion is reserved for later.

It is within that context (Apostasy) that the strong delusion is wrought upon those who love not the truth.
Apostasy rightly translated = ‘a falling away from the Apostolic faith’
This is a faith matter and rightly so, The Apostle of the Lord addresses a church!

So accepting that humankind was seeded on to earth via panspermia would constitute apostasy to you? Seems like a denial of God as creator to me and the catholic church has already endorsed the idea in approved literature. In the UK more people believe in ET than God. Newsflash, the apostasy has already occurred there.

      As to the strong delusion:
It is ‘not’ an external factor as you say (ET disclosure)
It is an internal factor wrought by the very hand of God 2Thes2:11
“God will send upon them a strong delusion” It is not satan sending the delusion.

Apparently you are not reading the text very carefully. Here try again… The coming of the lawless one is b
y the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Activity of Satan is an EXTERNAL factor. Lying signs and wonders are external influences…. think!

The word delusion rightly translated is (a deluding influence upon the mind) and it has everything to do with “the revealing of ‘the son of perdition’ (the lawless one) whose coming is in accord with the activity of satan” 2Thes2:9

Rightly translated? What are your Greek credentials again? If it has everything to do with “the revealing of ‘the son of perdition’ then you are ignoreing that it is by the activity of Satan and God sends it in the world by his permissive will.

It is He (the son of perdition) who is coming and not any ET disclosure.
It is He that will be worshipped in an exalted status 2Thes2:4 and the delusion from God will facilitate this final Apostasy. That is what the scripture is saying (nothing more, nothing less).

You are ignorant of a lot of prophecy to be so absolute. He shall deal with the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign [alien?] god. Those who acknowledge him he shall load with honor. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a price. (Daniel 11:39)

I never said he was anything but a man but thanks your comment.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

You know there are actually two things that are being described, both a deception (external trickery) AND a delusion (deception of the self).

The delusion is the same as its always been since the beginning, that we are righteous and worthy before God. It’s what led Cain to murder, Job to turn against God, the phariseas to crucify Jesus, just to name a few. The bible is clear on the fundamentals of the deception, but rather vague (or shall I say symbolically cryptic) on the details. That is because the deception has evolved and changed throught out the ages to adjust for the current culture of the time. It used to be nature worship, then Greek Roman Gods and now it will be something that science can validate. It’s about tricking the masses.

If a great solor storm started acting up and people started saying that Apollo was angry, everyone would scoff and roll their eyes. But there was a time when such a thing would cause people to drop to their knees and pray.

I think scripture is vague on these details so that it accounts for every scenery since the devil has been telling lies since the beginning. The nature of the lie is the same (that we need a powerful saviour to rescue our physical selves) but the tactic changes throughout history. Also, the devil is smart. If the bible was extremely black and white with the details, the devil would change his tactic. Satan probably knows the bible then all of is combined 1000 times over.

      • Cris Putnam says:

The world is so influenced by science that it seems logical to me that Satan’s strategy will be clothed in the credibility of science. Already a good portion of the world is ready to accept that the biblical authors mistook advanced ETs as angels and gods… If such a claim were made and scientists promote it (they are now) most of the world will accept it and viola we have a massive falling away with people fully embracing the atheistic worldview of astrobiology and darwinism.

        • hopeful_watcher says:

I agree with your assessment and it seems very logical to me that it will be validated by science.

The question is will these e.t.’s be like what hollywood pedels or will they have a very spiritual presence to them like angels. I am leaning to the later. As a matter of I that is what I believe they will be called. Angels. The heavens are another planet or dimension.

  3. cyberpriest says:

    by the activity of Satan
and God sends it in the world by his permissive will.

Answer me please; God sends what,in his permissive will. Is it the strong delusion or the disclosure? you are saying that the strong delusion is the disclosure IT IS NOT! It is the deluding influence upon the mind to believe the signs and wonders of the son of perdition.

The passage is to do with The Apostasy and the son of perdition and not your speculative imagination!
You have not said that the son of perdition is a Hybrid, but the False teachers and prophets that you are associating yourself with at this conference avow this and among them is your good friend and co-author Tom Horn.. For the love of God separate yourself from them lest you partake of their judgment.

I know that deep down you know the truth.. examine your heart and motives (please)

I love you with the love of the Lord and can see in you a real zeal for the Lord. I am an old man now, I was once where you are. keep on seeking and you shall find.

    • Cris Putnam says:

Answer me please; God sends what,in his permissive will. Is it the strong delusion or the disclosure? you are saying that the strong delusion is the disclosure IT IS NOT! It is the deluding influence upon the mind to believe the signs and wonders of the son of perdition.

I am saying that the “Activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception” could involve a claim to ETs. The evidence is ubiquitous in the culture already. The apostasy is caused by something and for something to influnece the entire world including secular and religious people of varying faiths to worship and give authority to one man – not an easy feat- so something from outside this world has the most explanatory power for how this occurs quickly. Quite a few good scholars agree with me. Walter Martin, Timothy Dailey, John Weldon etc.

I know that deep down you know the truth.. examine your heart and motives (please)

You did not answer any of my questions. You are simply dogmatic about your own imagined scenario but you truthfully don’t know how his could play out. Your arrogance is unwarranted and offensive.

  4. cyberpriest says:

    Watcher said;
You know there are actually two things that are being described, both a deception (external trickery) AND a delusion (deception of the self).

That is what i also am saying and saying it within the scriptural context, the (external trickery) is the signs and wonders of the Son of perdition. Yes God allows it by his permissive will And the (deception of self) is that which God Does by giving over those who love not the truth to believe the Lie.
What is this Lie? It is that the son of perdition be worshipped (the recognition of his great worth) in opposition to God 2Thes2:4 Is not this the aspiration of Lucifer did he not attempt this on the Lord in the temptation in the wilderness. This event is the line of demarkation between the sons of God and the wicked. in a way it can be said; that God has come to the end of his long suffering and gives the wicked over to become ripe for the Judgment of the Day of the Lord.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

Ok, so we are all saying the same thing. We are just hung up on the words we are using. Drawing a line between the two would help. Deception is of the devil. Delusion is of man when God gives them over to their own thoughts.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

For the record I believe the “deception” will involve et’s.

Interesting thought to consider how seemingly diverse religions will come together. Muslims believe Issa will return riding a mile wide mule riding to and fro across the sky.

Issa is there name for Jesus. A flying mile wide mule sounds like a space craft.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

one of the greatest examples of deception is the Book of Enoch. there you read the deception of the angels mixed with the delusion of the righteous.

we are told to hunger and thirst for righteousness, but never reaching it . if ever we take upon the title of righteous then we know we have fallen off the narrow path. only upon Jesus is return will the righteous established

      • hopeful_watcher says:

Compare the words of Jesus on the sermon on the mount compared to this text pulled from the book of enoch, which exalts prideful human effort and feeds our delusion that we are righteous in the eyes of the Lord.

        4. And after that I said: ‘Blessed is the man who dies in righteousness and goodness, Concerning whom there is no book of unrighteousness written, And against whom no day of judgement shall be found.’

        • Life says:

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying that the Book of Enoch promotes selfrighteousness?
In that case David does too:
“Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight” (Ps. 18:24)
I think both David and Enoch had received the righteousness that comes through faith.

          .

  5. cyberpriest says:

Mr Putman; I have given detailed references using the words of the Apostle as to the context of the strong delusion.

Here is a summary of the passage: 2Thes2:3-11

    1. It is an Apostasy that is coming and with it the son of perdition is revealed 2Thes2:3

    2. He constitute his Religious authority in a greatly exalted manner claiming divine status 2Thes2:4

    3. His coming is satanically inspired and motivated to deceive those who reject the Truth 2Thes2:9,10

    4. God sends a strong delusion to facilitate self deceit to believe the Lie 2Thes2:11

    5. The ‘one off lie’ is the false claim of religious authority asserted by the Son of perdition 2Thes2:4

    6. The mystery of iniquity is geared to that purpose (to reveal the son of perdition) 2Thes2:7,8

How form that do you have ET disclosure?

You now accuse me of being arrogantly offensive, Typical! the last resort is always to throw stones.
I have only shown what the scripture and the Apostles word reveal within their context. I stand on the Word of God , you in your speculation. so be it.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

E.T. disclosure does not negate any of that scripture you mention.

There are lots of things that prophecy DOESN’T mention. I don’t think Cris ever said once that the ET scenerio was a biblical certainty. But you are 100% certain it won’t happen because its not specifically mentioned in the bible.

Well neither was the German holocaust. By your logic, one of the most extreme mass extermination of God’s people would most certainly be mentioned in the bible. It wasn’t.

      • jimmy says:

Sorry, hopeful. There are way more extreme cases of people being murdered than the “holocaust”.
Specifically carried out by those who call themselves Jews.

If people would learn the truth of history, maybe the Jewish fables would quit getting top billing.

You should look into reading “Under the Sign of the Scorpion” by Juri Lina.
Or you can watch “In the Shadow of Hermes” on youtube, based on the book.

Sorry to butt in to the conversation about an alien agenda.
My next post will be on topic!

        • hopeful_watcher says:

Jimmy, my example was not meant as an example of the most horrible tragedy in history.

It was an example to point out that being excluded from the bible doesn’t make it an impossiblity.

          • jimmy says:

Maybe it was just that term “God’s people” that set me off.
            Sorry!
We are all “God’s people”, if ya think about it.

(I like to think of it that way, anyway.)
And as to my comment below, about the abomination of desolation, I should have clarified “in my opinion”, rather than coming off sounding like a know-it-all.

Truth is, I don’t think many of us know as much as we think we do.

  6. Michael York says:

I praise you Cris Putnam for being a rational thinking Christian who disseminates
data with as much specificity as can be accomplished. No one knows in advance
exactly how all the events will play out, but the Fact that Israel was re-gathered in
1948 is a certain milestone. In addition to this the increase in UFO phenomena
is well documented, and without actually going into the vast details of the 6000
year conspiracy it seems plausible, and probable that the UFO phenomena will
play a key role in the delusion which could if possible deceive the very elect.
Obviously at the 3.5 year mark everyone left on earth will be past the point of
believing in a benevolent ET super-race come to save mankind. They will be
wondering whose names were “not written in the Lambs Book of Life” from the
foundation of the world. Once satan has enslaved the remaining “people”
on the earth he can show himself to be the wicked one, and finally have his
moment to desecrate the holy of holies . I find it interesting that the several
references which Daniel makes to the Abomination of desolation both to the
Roman occurrence in 70AD and the future reference in the tribulation that in
Daniel 12 verse 11 speaking of the future event he states that from the time
the sacrifice is stopped until the abomination which makes desolate is “set up”
will be 1290 days, obviously this desecration is something other than a pig
offering, or more than just the man of sin standing there proclaiming himself god?

  7. jimmy says:

The abomination that causes desolation is plain enough for those who is pulling the strings in the world today. It all revolves around money. Same with the mark (money?) of the beast. Love of money = root of ALL evil.

Follow the money, they always say!

    • cyberpriest says:

The money! in more than one way I must say………

      • jimmy says:

I think the Pope and “aliens” are the least of our worries.
But, in my opinion, they provide a a good distraction for other interests, so naturally it will be “in the news” and the subject of much controversy.

  8. cyberpriest says:

Watcher; There are many things that took place in human history that the bible is not specific about and I agreeI.

If this be the case Then; Let’s not imply that The 2Thes passage is specifically the Great deception. Which is what these so called watchmen are doing. They are groping the scriptures to justify their speculative theories, and many are hanging on their every word rather than the word of God.

Leave the inspired word in the original context of it’s implication as I have pointed above within the summary.
That passage only has one truth implied within.
look; I would not want to use scripture in any suggestive manner lest I be found Guilty of ‘going beyond what is written’ and having the sheeples believing it. God forbid!

Let’s not use the infallible Word of God and place some foreign spin upon it to make it say that which it does not.
That is the oldest trick in the book and it’s source is unholy.

If you or anybody want to believe that The ET disclosure is the great deception that is their choice. Just don’t say that 2Thes2:3-11 refers to it because it does not.

    • hopeful_watcher says:

      Cyberpriest,
That is a very conservative and safe approach to God’s word. I can appreciate that. Speaking for myself, I pray that I never lead anyone to believe that any scenerio I study as a possibility is a revelation from God. My understanding of the majesty and power of God is minuscule and pathetic.

John did not write these words for nothing:
18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

We should take that warning very seriously.

    • owl says:

      I agree.

This whole ET business is a one big distraction from the word of God and a modern spin on biblical demons as a more appropriate fit in the scientific agenda which in itself is another distraction from allowing the Holy Spirit to do the work through us in true belief and acceptance. The alien spin was concocted by freemasonic elements some 100+ years ago and carefully weaved into our mindspace over the last century via planted theosopists and tech-occult groups such as the vril society and especially the british tavistock institute and its numerous tentacles conditioning the populace since WW2 (ironically yet purposefully since the creation of the state of israel) with sci-fi imaginations to potentiate alien realities and delusional entrapments on a mass scale.

As far as disclosure there is really nothing for them to disclose at this point that can be proven physically to the general population until at least they can produce biological rogue extensions in some underground labs to act as so called aliens. Though they may have this capability already it will not see the light of day until God allows thus I agree with cyberpriests’s earlier statement that it will be God that sends the delusion and not satan though to some it may appear that it is satan’s work. Most people seem to forget that satan can only do what God allows him to do as he is still only a creation albeit supernatural yet not an omnipresent/omnipotent entity. In that he cannot create but only manipulate that what has already been created by God.

  9. Charles says:

Chris is correct that science has been used by Satan/Lucifer to replace the Truth of God. I copied the lyrics of a song from 1982. The song was from Thomas Dolby. The title was She blinded me with science. I put my own commentary in parentheses. Lyrics: It’s poetry in motion (The lies of Satan/Lucifer and the church believing)
She turned her tender eyes to me (Satan/Lucifer appearing as a angel of light to the church)
    As deep as any ocean
    As sweet as any harmony
Mmm – but she blinded me with science
    “She blinded me with science!”
And failed me in biology (We teach evolution and have thrown out creation)

When I’m dancing close to her
“Blinding me with science – science!”
I can smell the chemicals (Lucifer/Satan tempting us to desire the flesh over the spirit)
“Blinding me with science – science!”
    “Science!”
    “Science!”

Mmm – but it’s poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
    As deep as any ocean
    As sweet as any harmony
Mmm – but she blinded me with science
And failed me in geometry (We teach the BIG BANG Theory which clearly contradicts creation)

When she’s dancing next to me
“Blinding me with science – science!”
    “Science!”
I can hear machinery. (Industrialization and Modernism – Lucifer/Satan bringing us a socially progressive trend of thought that affirms the power of human beings to create, improve and reshape their environment with the aid of practical experimentation, scientific knowledge, or technology. From this perspective, Modernism encouraged the re-examination of every aspect of existence, from commerce to philosophy, with the goal of finding that which was ‘holding back’ progress, and replacing it with new ways of reaching the same end)
“Blinding me with science – science!”
    “Science!”

It’s poetry in motion (Lies are being perceived as truth and truth is being perceived as lies)

    The elements in harmony
    She blinded me with science
    “She blinded me with science!”
And hit me with technology (Technology properly defined is any application of science to accomplish a function – Man attempting to do whatever he desires with no respect to Gods order)

“Good heavens Miss Sakamoto – you’re beautiful!” (Satan/Lucifer becoming the light of those who would worship the creature and not the creator)
    I –
    I don’t believe it!
    There she goes again!
She’s tidied up, and I can’t find anything!
All my tubes and wires (Media)
    And careful notes (Doctrines)
And antiquated notions (The great apostasy of the catholic church and her teaching, as well as all other christian churches)

But! – it’s poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
    As deep as any ocean
    As sweet as any harmony
Mmm – but she blinded me with science
“She blinded me with – with science!”
    She blinded me with –
