Pope Benedict Steps Down & Rene Thibaut Redeemed

By Cris Putnam
petrus_STL CorrectedPope Benedict announced today that he will step down at the end of the month. This is almost unprecedented as last to resign was Pope Gregory XII in 1415. He stepped down to end the “Western Schism,” a decades-long disagreement that resulted in two men claiming to be the head of the Catholic Church.

Back in April of 2012, Tom Horn and I revealed the obscure work of a Belgian Jesuit who predicted the final pope in April of 2012 based on a 900 year old prophecy by St. Malachy. I put all of his work on a spread sheet and calculated it all down to the days. See original post. Consequently, we were a little disappointed when it seemed like Rene Thibaut was mistaken.

As it turns out, he was far more correct than anyone ever knew! According to the NY Times:

That the resignation was long in the planning was confirmed by Giovanni Maria Vian, the editor of the Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, who wrote on Monday that the pope’s decision “was taken many months ago,” after his trip to Mexico and Cuba in March 2012, “and kept with a reserve that no one could violate.”

The news today that the Pope will resign sent shockwaves through me, as I remember too well Malachi and Rene and your predictions/prophecies .

March 1, 2013 is exactly 66 days after Christmas; and 2013 adds up to 6, too.

It blows my mind how much you rely on extra-biblical prophecies to come to your conclusions, when all you need can be found in the Bible.

Have you heard of Robert Fleming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Fleming,_Minister)? He comes to some of the same conclusions you do in your book Petrus Romanus: that the Papacy is the antichrist, and will be coming to an end very soon (he predicted the terminus being in the year 2000, with the end of it ~20 years afterwards). The thing is, he predicted it over 300 years ago without the use of recent history, speculations, and extra-biblical prophecies. He also accurately predicted the events and dates of the Papal Dominions being taken away (1848-1870), and the decline and extinction of the Turkish Empire (1848-1920).

While I find it interesting that you reach some similar conclusions, I’m very wary of the approach you take and sources you use, when all it really takes is the Bible and a knowledge of church history. Read Fleming’s Apocalyptical Key (https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=iAxKAAAAMAAJ) to see what I’m talking about.

Sorry, I linked to Robert Fleming Sr., his father. This is the link to Robert Fleming Jr: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Fleming_the_younger

I actually spent far more time on biblical prophecy and the views of the reformers in the book. Probably along the lines of 10 to 1. Did you read it or are you just saying that based on interviews?

  3. James says:

The news that the Pope will resign on Feb 8 and the predictions in Petrus Romanus not being far off sent jolts pown my spine. Peter The Roman is about to reveal himself.

  4. John says:

Well done, Cris – great catch!

  5. Bruce says:

I believe the first word out of my mouth when I read that the pope is resigning was WOW! This is huge. Just when you think you’ve heard and seen it all something like this happens and it shakes you to your core. It also makes you take a good look at how one is conducting one’s life. Do what you can for Jesus now. This is a serious wake up call that time really is short.

  6. Laurie says:

Well, this will be interesting for sure!

My thought is that this “Petrus Romanus” could very well be the next pope–the Vatican is surely well aware of this “prophecy” and can certainly maneuver events to ‘fulfill’ it. But–ultimately God is the One in charge! He rarely (if ever?) allows false prophets to be right! He shows them for what they are by changing the ending–the outcome, in order to demonstrate His Sovereignty. HE get’s the final word–always!

So while a “Petrus Romanus” is crowned pope; I seriously doubt that he will be the “last” pope. But then, I certainly could be proven wrong in my assertion–I’m no prophet–and our amazing Sovereign God does indeed move in astonishing ways! All Glory to Him!

  7. hopeful_watcher says:

I see a power struggle in the conclave between Arinze and Turkson, where one becomes pope and the other an anti- pope.

    • john B says:

Hi hopeful; now that would really confuse the catholic people.. Correct me If I am wrong but I think that Turkson’s name is Peter.. it may be that the aliens will sort it out! by calling out Arinze.
Interesting times ahead that’s for sure..
      Blessings

      • hopeful_watcher says:

It would give new perspective to a house divided can not stand :-) And yes Turkson’s first name is Petrus… Err, I mean Peter.

  8. Torres111 says:

Well the last popoe is and the anticrhrist comes with hem so… what can we do or what do you recommend to us (Commun people with no power in politics or religion) ??

  9. john B says:

Hi Cris; I listened the interview on trunews.com last night..I agree with your views about “Babylon the great city” and the Two-Horned beast of Rev13

The view that Rick Wiles projects is becoming popular among many christians… That view is that ‘Babylon is the secularised world, some even saying that it is America’
The post reformation agenda by the ‘Jesuits’ to move the focus of attention away from ‘papal Rome’ is still very active within these End-Times.

All one needs to do in order to understand the identity of “Mystery Babylon” is to ask the question that cause Apostle John such great wonder…WHO IS THIS WOMAN THAT BECAME DRUNK WTH THE BLOOD OF THE SAINTS OF THE WITNESSES OF JESUS ?
    Rev17:6
It is obvious that History gives witness that there has only been one persecuting Whore located at one city who killed in the name of Christ.. It is that Woman which fornicates with the Kings of the earth ‘using their political and military strength’ to pursue her insatiable lust for the blood of the saints..

It is time to wake up and join voices with those whose blood cry out from the ground in the echo of Apostle Peter’s words 1Pet5:13 Babylon is Rome the city on seven hills Rev17:9 (Pontifex Maximus is Caesar).

Papal Rome can be historically traced to ancient Babylon.. This Bride of satan (Mystery Babylon) has been carried through the passage of time transported by the “seven Headed beast” of past civilisations retaining her opposition to the people of God. She is still here behind the smoke screens awaiting to manifest her lust for blood by the soon to appear Eighth head of the Beast Rev17:11

  10. Debra Stockle says:

If “not even the angels in Heaven or the Son of Man know the time and hour” who are we to pontificate ? To claim to have any such knowledge seems to be to be a sin of pride, the first sin, both Lucifer’s and Adam’s. If the Vatican is “rained” down upon and this is God’s will …so be it. The Heart of the Church exists in the hearts of its members., not stone and brick. (Though it certainly would be a shame to lose irreplaceable art, artifacts, and manuscripts .) Christ followed tradition till the night before he died. Sacred tradition, not empty ritual, has still continued in this Church. He renamed Simon Peter for a reason. He gave him the keys . He promised “the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. .” I believe in Christ and in his infinite wisdom to see thru time and eternity. I do not believe he could be wrong, full well knowing the sins of man. If you believe the Miracle of the Sun in Fatima was a UFO do you believe the children were speaking with an ET? Russia has been consecrated and JPII was behind the scenes with Reagan quietly helping to bring down the Berlin wall. Pope Pius was a friend to the Jew and risked the personal safety of priests and nuns in Rome to hide Jews. To hear the Pope’s referred to as anti-Christs’ is nothing new. The caller that made reference as to which nation was most like Rome today seemed to be spot on. And ,yes, we do need to be worried about a Little man/boy leading North Korea. Fight the good fight and pray for peace. What Pope Benedict has done is a great act of humility.

    • john B says:

Hi Debra: you are looking only at one side of the coin..The side that portrays the lamb-Like facet of the beast.

No one here are setting ‘Time and hour’ The final conflict of the church ( The Heart of the Church exists in the hearts of its members) is about the issue of Worship!..

Concerning this Apostle paul gave indication that a great Apostasy (worship of the beast) would preceded the return of Jesus 2Thes2:3,4 we are to discern the Times (seasons) indicative to the return of Jesus..

I don’t want to harp on it… But; “The son of perdition” is an Apostate… an Apostate is one who departs from the Apostolic faith founded by Jesus..
Just because the popes lay claim to Apostle Peter does not justify the “Babylonian intrusion” contained and propagated by the Catholic hierarchal system of worship..

The keys entrusted to Peter concerning Binding and loosening Mat16:19 only applies by the direction given by the sole builder of His church Jesus Mat18:18… It is not an usurping of authority that is unquestionable upon which the death penalty is imposed if one refuses to submit to Pontifex Maximus!
History reveals the other side of the coin!

        Pontifex Maximus

Entrance to Vatican City, with inscription “Benedictus XVI Pont(ifex) Max(imus) Anno Domini MMV Pont (ificatus) I.”, i.e., “Benedict XVI, Pontifex Maximus, in the year of Our Lord 2005, the first year of his pontificate.”

The term “pontiff” is derived from the Latin word pontifex, which literally means “bridge builder” (pons + facere), and which designated a member of the principal college of ‘priests in ancient Rome’.
The Latin word was translated into ancient Greek variously: as ἱεροδιδάσκαλος, ἱερονόμος, ἱεροφύλαξ, ἱεροφάντης, or ἀρχιερεύς (high priest) The head of the college was known as the Pontifex Maximus (the greatest pontiff).
In Christian use, pontifex appears in the Vulgate translation of the New Testament to indicate the “Jewish high priest” (in the original, ἀρχιερεύς).
The term came to be applied to any Christian bishop, but since the 11th century commonly refers specifically to the Bishop of Rome, who is more strictly called the “Roman Pontiff”.

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall (first) be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall (first) be loosed in heaven). Mat18:18

The word of God is the limiting factor in any church authority. Church leadership only have authority to declare to the world what God’s word reveals to us in His scriptures… As an example; All Christians can declare adultery or sodomy to be sin, condemned by God… But only because God himself declares this in His scriptures (the written word). But, beyond the clear written word of God, churches or any Christian has no right to go 1Cor4:6
That is entirely different from the Catholic interpretation of absolute God-like infallible power presumed by the Papacy.

It is also interesting that the papal claim to infallible authority uses Mat18:18 as its pivotal point, a chapter and verse with the numerical vallue of 666:666

      • Hada Merryweather says:

The new Babylon is Hollywood stars and producers gone political, the pornography industry, the drug Cartels going world wide…. Sons of perdition, they are the Babylonian intrusion guided by the God of Money, becoming Lobbyists of Western Governments to reframe society’s take on the immoralities they promote, making them acceptable to people in western nations, rendering them Godless and without fear of God. The end result is the absence clarity in what is what is good and moral. There will be a Fall of Babylon, that is the fall of the aforementioned, that which is a corruptive force in our society. Until then, the corruption trickles down,. Money is the root of all evil, let us not forget. Money-making and the takeover of natural resources guides the declaration of wars and the monopoly on farming in America, among other things. The Papacy should be the least of our worries, other than that they need to remove the greedy and unholy who dared to infilitrate it for their own gain. Benedict stepped down knowing their were corrupt person who infiltrated his inner circle. He cleaned up by getting out, accordingly causing the infiltrators to become disempowered. Praise the Lord! Our governments are infiltrated and they need to be cleaned up too,

In the first video above, it says that Malachy “went into a trance”. To me, that sounds more like an Edgar Cayce – type experience. Bob Jones (Kansas city Prophets) speaks of “going into trances”. So in light of that, I have my doubts about Malachy’s experience being from God.

That said, It doesn’t mean that the ‘prophecy’ is not true. After all, pagan King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the statue revealed the history of the world! The Vatican and the things they are putting out these days seem to be all about deception, so for me it’s not wise to put too much stock in ANYTHING associated with them, except to just consider it as a red flag.

I bought and read “Petrus Romanus” when it came out last year. I learned a lot of things I did not know, but as far as basing my opinion on what was probably a vision from a familiar spirit, I won’t do that. It is something I will put on the back-burner, and trust God to lead me through the maze of land mine deceptions that are just gonna increase in the days ahead.

But Cris, I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone!

    Blessings
    Sandy

The Campi Flegrei Caldera (a Supper Caldera) on 2-5-13 close to Rome has lava rising to the surface. If this blows Rome could see sulfur and fire from the sky and much damage to ROME. Hmmm Sounds like maybe CARDINAL PETER KODWO APPIAH TURKSON OF GHANA may be the the one to be pope if all others die during the Supper Caldera Eruption. But this is just a guess.

  13. Jason says:

I feel that its pretty dramatic that the Thibaut prophecy was so close to being fulfilled and am very interested in how this thing is going to play out in light of the St. Malachi prophecy. On the other hand, I don’t understand how the fact that the pope deciding to step down many months ago means the Thibaut prediction came true. The prediction was that he would resign in 2012. Whether he decided to step down last year or not, he remained in power till 2013.

  14. Joe says:

Like Martin Luther I believe that the Antichrist will be the Pope. The Antichrist will be exactly like the Betrayer Judas Iscariot who was a Syrian Jew. If this next Pope is not a Syrian Jew genetically then he will not be the last Pope and Thomas Horn will need to search the Scriptures further for more clarification from the Holy Spirit who rewards those who diligently seek Him.

I personally believe that the False Prophet will be the Black Cardinal of the Jesuits who will be the Antichrists enforcement arm against rebellion in resisting the Mark.

  15. Mark says:

The March equinox, which marks the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere, will be on March 20 in 2013
Will it have any thing to do with when the New Pope is selected?

    • sandy says:

      Mark,
One other thing about March 20. The media is reporting, that is the date Obama is scheduled to arrive in Jerusalem. This is a little over a week prior to “Good Friday”; which is March 29.
Different media figures and celebrities have portrayed Obama as “godlike” or a “messiah figure”. This is his first trip to Israel since he has been president.
We all have read in the Bible of Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem…days before he was crucified.(Good Friday) I am wondering if…when he arrives in Israel, will the media portray it to “mimic” Jesus’ triumphant entry? I am REALLY expecting to see this.
One other thing I think is interesting: Another person that Obama is being compared to and you see ALL kinds of propaganda about is A. Lincoln.
Lincoln was shot on April 14th, but get this….it was Good Friday! I have been connecting some dots and see a very interesting scenario. I am not saying this will happen, I’m just saying that in connecting some dots, I see the “possibility” for TPTB to stage a world class hoax. One that would make him appear as ‘godlike’ to most of the world, and as the AC to Christians.
Suppose they staged a ‘fake’ assassination on the 29th – Good Friday. Then, on the 3rd day, hear on the news: “HE’S ALIVE”!!!!! All of this coming right after he visits Jerusalem, and all the hype…the last few years…portraying him as the messiah! And also fulfilling the role of Lincoln of being assassinated on Good Friday.
I know this is a wild scenario, but, you know what? I don’t put ANYTHING past this bunch. It would be the BIGGEST April Fools joke …………EVER. I am going to be paying CLOSE attention toward the end of March.
